HGST Touro Mobile MX3 500GB External Hard Drive - Black

Quality Product
Pretty simple review this, bought it, plugged it into my usb, transferred my files. Very easy and no messing about, worked absolutely fine on my XP system. What else can you ask for from an external hd.

MAC USERS HAVE TO FORMAT THE HARD DRIVE -- READ HERE!!
Hey, so I'm a newbie when it comes to hard drives and would've thought that you just plug it in and start using it... wrong.
With the Mac, you must reformat the hard drive so that it's compatible with your laptop - in this case, your Mac.
All you do is open 'Disk Utility' in your apps area, then locate to your hard drive on the left hand side and click on the name of the hard drive, then click 'erase' on the right hand side and click the 'Format' button which you should change to 'Mac OSX (External Journaled)', then click Erase.

TADAA!! Your hard drive will now work.
As for the product itself, I bought this for my dad to transfer some movies and shows over and DAYUMMMM this thing transfer stuff over pretty damn fast.
I love this, I'm going to buy another one very, very soon.
Don't hesitate to get this - it's awesome.

If you're a mac user and this helped you, please thumbs up so that other people can see this (others who are newbies like I...

Hitachi Touro Mobile MX3 500GB External Hard Drive - Black
Okay,
I ordered this thinking it was a 'portable' HD. So, when i re-read the info on Amazon, i panicked at seeing the dimensions!!
25 x 25 x 15 cm!!!!
Certainly not pocket size.
So I proceeded to print out the return forms & waited for it to arrive. In 2 days it did arrive (super service!) and lo & behold, it actually WAS the size i wanted!
Not 25 x 25 x 15 cm as described, but 12cm x 8cm x 1.8cm,repeat.... 12cm x 8cm x 1.8cm.
It will fit in my pocket.
It did plug & play in less than 5 seconds.
And I do wish they would say the exact amount of storage as there was 465GB not 500 GB.
Also there is no sign MX3 written on the box, so, sort out the right info please!
So I'll have to drop a star for the bloody confusion.
